Genesis 26 is a case study on all the factors involved in enjoying abundance during recession. The basis of God’s blessings is the blessing of the covenant of Abraham. Deuteronomy 8:18 says God gives us the power to get wealth to establish His covenant. Obedience and service to God are conditions for living days in pleasures and spending years in prosperity (Job 36:11). Isaac obeyed God and sowed in the land of famine. The blessing of God makes rich and adds no sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). The blessing thrives in the midst of trouble. Isaac’s obedience was the key to activating the existing covenant God had with His father, Abraham. He also sowed in the land and reaped a hundred fold in the same year. Isaac began to prosper and continued until he was very prosperous. Isaac put God first, respected God’s Word and built his life around God’s covenant Word...

The champion/giant within us is our recreated human spirit, energised by the Holy Spirit of God bringing us into all that God has made available to us in Christ Jesus. We were made in the spirit image of God. Sin destroyed the picture and Christ has restored it. We now have two identities: our natural then our spiritual identities. In the battles of life, our spiritual identities play a more important role than the natural. This study is about cultivating the lifestyle that will give us victory on every aspect of our lives. Life is usually lived in more than one dimension. Let us lay the foundation for our new identity in Christ. 3 dimensions of Christ's death, burial and resurrection are: Divine Exchange; Divine Pattern; and the Revelation of the Divine love of God. These three relate to the personal aspect of our lives, the relational, and then our assignment in life. PERSONAL (Divine Exchange) We have...

Daniel was described as a man with the spirit of excellence - ‘an excellent spirit was found in him.’ (Daniel 6:3-5). He was described as faithful, without error or fault, and the secret was found in his connection with his God. With that kind of spirit they could not stop him from succeeding or rising to the fullness of his potential unless they cut him off from his God-connection. In Acts 24:13-21, from the Amplified translation, we read how Paul, in his own defence, talks about his relationship with God: ’and therefore I always exercise and discipline myself (mortifying my body, deadening my carnal affections, bodily appetites, and worldly desires, endeavouring in all respects) to have a clear conscience, void of offence toward God and men’ (verse 16). To have an excellent spirit demands that we walk in wisdom, knowing how to deal rightly with people, and maintain a relationship with...

This is the end or (bottom line) of the matter: fear God and keep His commandments. The two ingredients: the fear of God and keeping His commandments (obedience) are vital to our study of stewardship as they form the foundation or the basis for the operations for our study subject. The fear of God is the worshipful reverence for God that leads us not only to depart from sin (as it does not please God) but it engenders an attitude of worship and love for God. Obedience to God implies doing what God wants with the right motives and focus. The purpose, principles and practise of stewardship are very vital to our life’s achievements. God’s expectation of mankind can be summarised by the word: Stewardship. Faithfulness in stewardship is the pass mark for promotion and increase. To be a good steward of anything you must know the purpose of the thing....

God has plans for His children to succeed in their life on earth. Both the definition and demonstration of the word 'success' have been influenced by the fallen nature of man, so much so, that many sincere believers have been tempted to surrender any desire to a worldly spirit to enjoy success. On the other hand so many have accepted the worldly definition of it and their pursuit has led to a strangulation of their spiritual walk with God. Many have taken Godly principles and left (the person of) God out of the equation and achieved some results. Principles work for whoever puts them to work. This has led to many paying half-hearted attention to these principles and those who do pay full attention may do it at the expense of their devotion or consecration to God. The implication of all this is that certain good principles are left in the...

BY LEARNING HOW GOD PROSPERS HIS PEOPLE, YOU CAN HAVE A RECESSION PROOF FUTURE Does God have a plan for His people in these days of the credit crunch? Are there lessons to be learnt from this recession? What can we learn to make us recession proof in the future? This global phenomenon has had a ripple effect in many aspects of the lives of many people. Many have faced untold hardship while others have had their homes repossessed and properties confiscated. Many parts of people's lives have been negatively affected by the current recession. What is God saying about these human tragedies? Is there comfort from any source? Can we have assurance for our future in view of all these realities? GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE: TO BE IN HEALTH AND PROSPER AS YOUR SOUL PROSPERS 3 John 2 says “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be...
