You will love the Lord your God with all your heart and your entire mind and all yourstrength (worship). You will love your neighbor with the love of God (service and fellowship). There are some things we need to pursue so as to keep our spiritual lives healthy in church and as individuals. Strip yourself of every defilement, get rid of hypocrisy and set goals that will keep you out of every thing that defiles. There are five identifiable practices that are sure to keep your spiritual life in good health as a church and as individuals and these are: worship; fellowship; discipleship; ministry and evangelism. Worship:This is measuring worth to God, giving Him his due worth in your life and with all your heart. It starts by acknowledging His place in your life. He owns you and He has a right to your life and all you claim to be...

Genesis 26 is a case study on all the factors involved in enjoying abundance during recession. The basis of God’s blessings is the blessing of the covenant of Abraham. Deuteronomy 8:18 says God gives us the power to get wealth to establish His covenant. Obedience and service to God are conditions for living days in pleasures and spending years in prosperity (Job 36:11). Isaac obeyed God and sowed in the land of famine. The blessing of God makes rich and adds no sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). The blessing thrives in the midst of trouble. Isaac’s obedience was the key to activating the existing covenant God had with His father, Abraham. He also sowed in the land and reaped a hundred fold in the same year. Isaac began to prosper and continued until he was very prosperous. Isaac put God first, respected God’s Word and built his life around God’s covenant Word...

Determination, Discovery, Discipline will lead to fulfilling Destiny Determine to press into the future God has for you. Your determination starts with decisions. Decide to lay hold of all God has for you. Some decisions include: letting God’s Word be final authority in your life; deciding to be a student of life and a student for life; letting the Holy Spirit teach you things you don’t know or don’t have the right orientation about. Decide to watch your tongue and be a doer of God’s Word. Some things are not properly learnt because the inner motives may not be correct. So many times people want to obey an instruction from God but don’t check if their motives are in harmony with a God’s way of doing things. When motives are wrong, God’s purposes go unfulfilled even though the people believe or think they are obeying God.   James 1:21-25 (NKJV) Doers-Not Hearers Only Therefore lay...

Faith is a lifestyle that includes your thought life, your attitude and orientation towards challenges. It is based on the covenant Word of God and its goal is fulfilling the will of God and pleasing Him. With it we lay hold on all Christ has made available to us. Jesus Christ paid the eternal price for our victory in life and faith lays hold of the victory we have in Christ. Our obedience, sacrificial living as well as saying “no” to sin and the works of the flesh are all involved in the lifestyle of faith. Maintaining a focus on our faith life will help increase its productivity amongst other things.   Psalms 23:4-6 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of...

SPEAKING AND EXPECTING GO HAND IN HAND   Mark 11:22-24 “And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].”   According to the Greek dictionary, to be diligent implies to exert oneself, make every effort, be zealous, strain every nerve, and further the cause assiduously.   Those who believe have come to know His ways. He gives His Word! That is always the starting point.  Faith comes by hearing the word of God. We enter into the realities of His word as we praise and glorify God. We align...

UNDERSTANDING UNBELIEF!   Unbelief is a function of the thoughts we permit in our minds.  These thoughts hinder our acceptance, hence believing and receiving God's truth into our hearts.  This can be seen in the account of Jesus not being able to do mighty works because of their unbelief.   Mark 6:2-6 “And on the Sabbath He began to teach in the synagogue; and many who listened to Him were utterly astonished, saying, ‘Where did this Man acquire all this? What is the wisdom [the broad and full intelligence which has been] given to Him? What mighty works and exhibitions of power are wrought by His hands!’ Is not this the Carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon? And are not His sisters here among us? And they took offence at Him and were hurt [that is, they disapproved of Him, and it hindered them from acknowledging...
