ENTERING INTO HIS REST   Many struggle to see God's power manifested in their lives.  There is a place in God called "Entering into His Rest". This is a place after we have done our due diligence in believing, acting, speaking and expecting His Word to be fulfilled in our lives, we labour to enter His rest. We do not allow unbelief and ignorance of His ways to derail us from experiencing His power in our lives.   Hebrews 3:7-11 “Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts, as [happened] in the rebellion [of Israel] and their provocation and embitterment [of Me] in the day of testing in the wilderness, Where your fathers tried [My patience] and tested [My forbearance] and found I stood their test, and they saw My works for forty years. And so I was provoked (displeased and sorely grieved) with that generation,...

Knowing God and His Ways As we read through these verses of scripture, note that God speaks, we believe and come into alignment with what has been said then we position ourselves to receive from God.   Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for Me?”   There is nothing impossible for God to do. He needs us to believe Him and take Him at His word, trusting in His willingness to demonstrate His power on our behalf.   Luke 18:27 “But He said, What is impossible with men is possible with God.” Mark 10:27 “Jesus glanced around at them and said, With men [it is] impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” Mark 9:23 “And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes!” Acts 4:29-33 “And now, Lord, observe their threats and grant to Your...

The men and women who walked with God in their days as recorded in the bible, were people who knew their God, they knew His strategies and His ways. They knew the resources at their disposal and knew their enemy too. One of such men was David, the king of Israel. Others are Daniel and the mother of Samuel, to mention a few. God is the Master of the breakthrough.  David found that out through his experience with God.   We see from this scripture how David experienced God granting him the breakthrough he needed. God wants to do something similar for us all, but are we ready to learn, Who He is and how to function with Him? When we learn and apply what we see in His word we can expect His power to make the difference in our lives and situations.   2 Samuel 5:17-25 “When the Philistines heard that David had...

Jesus planned for the church to be the training ground for the citizens of God's kingdom. He delegated authority, responsibility and His Vision to the church - His called out ones. He plans for the church to be built on Him as their foundation. He also expects that the revelation knowledge of Himself and the Father would be the basis of operations in the church He is building.   Mat 16:15-19 He said to them, But who do you [yourselves] say that I am? Simon Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Then Jesus answered him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are you, Simon Bar-Jonah. For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter [Greek, Petros—a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra—a huge rock like Gibraltar]...

My love for God and His Word brought me to desire to know the meaning and applications of words like grace and mercy. Another word like that is peace. In the New Testament the words grace, mercy and peace come up regularly. The general definition of grace is the unmerited favour of God or God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. When I come across phrases like ‘be strong in the grace’, ‘grow up in grace’, and ‘grace abounding to us in all things’, and when Paul says that grace works mightily in him and he is what he is by the grace of God, I begin to get the feeling that we may need another dimension of understanding for the word called grace. There is a grace teaching that implies that no matter what happens, God’s love is such that you do not need to feel bad about anything, you are inherently...

I have also realised that every dimension of grace calls for our hearts to submit to it. Submission is yielding to one another and this is only possible when we humble ourselves.  Grace can only teach those who are yielded to it. When apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers want to impart the grace they carry in their office callings, it is still the humble who will receive the grace they can impart! How much we miss out when we hold on to our opinions and cares, instead allowing grace to move us on in God's plans for our lives!   This write-up is calling for a heart examination. How much are we in the state of humility which will enable God to correct, equip and impart strength into us for the journey ahead? How much are we willing to have a change of heart, lifestyle or disposition so we can be...

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is defined as the unmerited favour God poured on humanity through the Sacrifice of our Saviour Jesus Christ, the Son of God. This grace has brought salvation from sin, sickness, diseases, poverty etc. we have a new identity, carry a new authority and expect a different outcome in our lives after we get born again! We also learn to cooperate with the Spirit of God in helping us to deal with our humanity. So we can learn and participate as well as enjoy what God has done for us in Christ; what the Holy Spirit is doing in us as believers; and what the Son is doing at the right hand of the Father on our behalf. He ever lives to intercede for us. Praise God for a such wonderful plan for us.   Grace, however, has dimensions: there is the teaching dimension; then the enabling...

Your giving is a major key to destroying the stronghold of poverty. As you give of your time, talent and treasures to the Lord, you are offering sacrifices acceptable to the Lord. Our giving is part of our worship. There are different types of giving in the bible. There is the tithe, giving to the poor, giving for THE gospel etc.   Malachi 3:10-12 Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer [insects and plagues] for your sakes and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine drop its fruit before the time...

The process of overcoming poverty starts with prayers. Then we need to have a change of identity, change in our consciousness of who we are; are we blessed or under a curse? Poverty is part of the curse of the law. Change in our expectations and hence change in our lifestyles. In overcoming the spirit of poverty deliverance is needed: the casting away of the spirit itself, the renunciation of the hold of that spirit on its victim, then the change of thought structures and patterns that the spirit of poverty has developed in its victims, then a change of lifestyle which includes a new vision of oneself, with new expectations and new habits of giving and thinking of being a blessing to others. For many, poverty was inherited. You know poverty thoughts when you see how the thoughts are centred around being a 'victim' of one’s circumstances: how you feel you...

Let us now study these operations of evil beings and how we can overcome them.   Ephesians 6:10-18 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in...
