BY LEARNING HOW GOD PROSPERS HIS PEOPLE, YOU CAN HAVE A RECESSION PROOF FUTURE Does God have a plan for His people in these days of the credit crunch? Are there lessons to be learnt from this recession? What can we learn to make us recession proof in the future? This global phenomenon has had a ripple effect in many aspects of the lives of many people. Many have faced untold hardship while others have had their homes repossessed and properties confiscated. Many parts of people's lives have been negatively affected by the current recession. What is God saying about these human tragedies? Is there comfort from any source? Can we have assurance for our future in view of all these realities? GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE: TO BE IN HEALTH AND PROSPER AS YOUR SOUL PROSPERS 3 John 2 says “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be...

Everything you observe in human behaviour usually has a governing principle or philosophy. Many of the human actions we see may have been a product of necessity or borne out of a desire to be something or achieve something. The moment it becomes a repeated activity, be sure some thoughts have been generated to justify its existence in the sphere of human behaviour. To change the external behaviours without dealing with the internal operating principle is an attempt in futility. Habit is that which we do repeatedly and it afterward takes over our faculties and we seem not to be able to change it. What we started suddenly becomes our master! It is the horse that we ride into our future. We chose the horse in the first place, now we seem to be at the mercy of this horse taking us where it wants to go. Let us go beneath the surface...

These prayers by Apostle Paul contain the keys to a future of victory and fulfilment in any Christian's life. I personally recommend them to all who care to read this. Pray them daily for at least one month - then go 6 months. I use the Amplified translation to write out the prayers. Make it personal and you can use it to pray for others too! For eyes to be enlightened, to know the hope to which we are called and the inheritance we have in God and God has in us and the greatness of the power at work towards us who believe. Wow! Ephesians 1:17-23 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, By having the eyes of your heart flooded with...

“Know you not that which run a race run all, but one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain” 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. The Apostle Paul uses the metaphor of an athlete to describe the discipline needed in the Christian race. He advises that we should be temperate in all things and bring the body under control. These all call for discipline. There are rules that govern how athletes perform their sports and the rules differ from sport to sport. Discipline can be defined as the mental readiness to do what is needed to accomplish desired or expected results. We subject ourselves to the discipline needed to accomplish whatever we set out to accomplish. Professional athletes prepare well in advance for any competition. They regulate their feeding, their exercises, developing strengths where needed, and their sleep or relaxation is aimed at producing the best possible results. In 2 Timothy 2:3-7, Paul teaches...

The journey of another 12 months has started. The year 2016 has rolled in and before long you will ask whatever happened to time. Time and tide, they say waits, for no man. We are all given 24 hours for each day and when it is gone, it can never be regained. So learn to use time wisely. In this write up, I am particular about the folks who want their life to count for now and eternity. Those who want to fulfil God’s purposes for their lives and have the fulfilment that they are on course for the destinies in God to be fulfilled. By that I mean whatever God has designed for their lives to contribute that is what they want too. We are looking at four different aspects of this journey called life and see how we can be encouraged to pursue this walk of faith to fulfil our...

We are called to make disciples of Nations. Many need to know what it means to become a disciple themselves before they can make others Disciples of Christ. Luke 9:23-27 “And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also]. For whoever would preserve his life and save it will lose and destroy it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he will preserve and save it [from the penalty of eternal death]. For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and ruins or forfeits (loses) himself? Because whoever is ashamed of Me and of My teachings, of him...

The quality of your life, whether good or bad, is based upon how thankful you are towards God. It is one attitude that determines whether life unfolds into a place of blessedness or wretchedness. To find joy in life, find thankfulness. One who is thankful for a little enjoys much but the unappreciative soul is always miserable, always complaining. In the book of Phillipians, the apostle Paul admonishes us to 'rejoice and again I say rejoice', (chapter 4,verse 4.) We are told to “be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God.” (Verse 6) Many scriptures encourage us to praise God and be thankful. In Mathew 6:34 we are admonished to not allow ourselves to worry about anything. Gratitude is the healthiest human emotion. These are things we can put into practise as we enjoy the power of gratitude. Become one with...

Every instruction in God’s Word carries a consequence. When obeyed, the rewards are there and when disobeyed, the rewards do show up with time. What happens many times is that the benefits are sometimes limited to our understandings. Without our understanding, our cooperation is limited and possibly inconsistent. Many times we tend to be event-oriented rather than process-oriented. God’s dealings are usually process-oriented though they manifest as events. One of such instructions is the instruction to give. This runs through the Bible and its basis is found in the principle of the seed and harvest. The entire kingdom of God operates on the seed principle. Jesus made that clear in Mark 4, when He was discussing the parable of the sower. In verse 13, He asked if they got the parable, because failure to get it implies they may not get the others. God Himself, in carrying out His redemption plan planted the...

The key ingredient that releases potential in any field of life is commitment. It can turn a potential leader to a successful one above all other qualities. When you are interested in something you do it only when it is convenient. When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses. Many are interested in things because they are good or they like the people involved. Interest alone will not get the job done. Many love the Lord, they say, and are interested in seeing His Kingdom expand but expansion will not happen based on their interest only. It takes commitment for growth to take place. In your personal life, being interested in growth won’t bring it; it is being committed to the principles of growth that will produce growth. You are only committed when your consistency continues when it is no longer convenient. You endure, persevere and suffer long...

Fulfilling Your Prophetic Destiny Isaiah 61:1-4 “THE SPIRIT of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound, To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favour] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion—to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and...
