21 May Seven Mountain Prayer Strategy
To effectively deal with the influences generated on these mountains, we need to know what exactly is going on and then allow God to give insights as to how to mount up these mountains and take out the demonic influences on them.
The strategy must include prayer and action. In this study we will deal with prayers.
Every born again, Spirit filled, believer needs to know how to pray and how to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit in prayer. He is our helper, especially in prayer. The perversion and pollution or corruption flowing down these mountains is the work of principalities and spiritual wickedness in high places. They take full advantage of the fallen nature in mankind to enslave and deceive humanity so much so that human beings become self-destructive. What God intended for good is mis-interpreted so that it will be used for destruction?
Apostle Paul says “We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take the whole armour of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:12-13). It is noteworthy that he uses wrestling as opposed to casting out of these beings. He talks of an evil day. These perpetrators are not mere human beings. Behind every major act of destruction, deception and wastage of human life are demonic entities; these beings are known to work ‘behind the scenes’ using human emotions and stirring human potential for destruction. They unleash wickedness on the face of the earth. These spirit beings carry out their assignment to steal kill and destroy by manipulating human feelings of insecurity, fear and pride to produce activities that generate climates conducive for Satan to have sway on the earth.
TO BE IN AUTHORITY, WE NEED TO BE UNDER AUTHORITY
We have authority to stop them and instead be carriers of God’s influence over the mountains of influence. Wrestling is a lethal combat involving close contact! These beings influence thought processes, lifestyles, and relationships. They can stir emotions, generate false alarms, and seek to wreck havoc in more ways than one. They can be cunning; they are consistent and will do everything to conquer humanity in their quest for dominance. Their cover is usually something in the fallen nature of the human being. They are spirit beings of a certain ranking that have other demons under their authority. So the believer who will succeed in dealing with them must like a soldier, be under authority and not break ranks.
Any trace of rebellion in the believer becomes an inroad to deception from these beings. Many believers have their knowledge of God corrupted simply because of rebellion in them. Satan is a master at rebellion. You cannot overcome an influence that you are under. Samson in the book of judges was called of God to deliver the Israelites from the Philistines. He eventually yielded to the prevailing spirit of lust amongst the Philistines and he was unable to deal with them as before. Read Judges 13-16. Samson did not know that the Lord had left him, Judges 16:20. He had to deal with the cunning and crafty Delilah who was just the human cover for the operation of the principality ruling the philistines. The lust in him, in spite of being anointed by God was taken advantage of. He died with the ones he was meant to destroy.
You cannot destroy what you are a slave to. It will destroy you or you get destroyed along with it.
Deal with anything that is not Christ-like in you. This kind of prayer (7 mountain prayer strategy) calls for and depends on God’s grace and mercy more than anything else. Humility is the key to securing the grace needed.
In warfare, Apostle Paul’s admonition to put on the whole armour of God is vital. Our entire body is covered except our backs. The Word of God in this context is the one inspired by the Spirit of God for the purpose of whatever we are dealing with at any particular place and time. That implies intimacy with God especially in these seasons. The Word is the offensive strategy to penetrate the darkness on any mountain we are dealing with. Praying is our stance, attitude and battle-position for victory. Our priestly function (in intercession and re-presenting the people or situation before God) should be coupled with our kingly function (our declarations of Kingdom victory over the darkness we are dealing with). We are kings and priests unto our God. (Rev. 1:6).
MEDIA MOUNTAIN: the enemy here is ‘Appollyon’ who is a destroyer. He destroys by releasing bad news into society and hence destroys hope and creates doubts that releases fear into humanity’s hearts so their fears will dominate them and God’s will, will not be done on earth. Bad news is known to physically affect the heart and immune system of human beings. “As cold water to weary soul so is good news from a far country” (Proverbs 25:25). See also (Ish. 52:7) and phil.4:6. Even there is bad news to convey there is a spirit of redemption with which it can be conveyed. We need to pray against this spirit and pray for God’s people to rise up and convey the good news and effectively check the bad flow of news in general. Consistent prayer should be made over the realm of media over every Nation so that God’s agent to spread news in a healthy manner can be raised by God to influence the mountain from the top to the bottom.
Intercessors need to identify what the enemy is doing on the top the mountains as well as what God will have happen there. They are to cover in prayers the ones who are already on the mountains like presidents or prime ministers are on the mountain of government as well as those who are climbing up. They are to be covered in prayers as the bible enjoins us to in 1Timothy 2:1-4. Manipulation of financial disasters will be Satan’s strategy for the mountain of Economy, so we need to pray against such disasters and as we are lead of God, we can pray for specific ones who will be objects of Satan’s target. We should also pray for the relief agencies who will be God’s agents for relief when disasters strike.
EDUCATION AND STRATEGY
All mountains need to be studied properly; both from theoretical and practical stand points. In every country, there will be modifications as to how the practice in all the areas of influence affects the people. So getting educated about these things become very important, so that we may be rightly positioned to receive strategies from God’s Spirit to enable us generate the right influence on these mountains.
Strategy will involve, amongst other things, knowing our strengths, our resources, both natural and spiritual; then also knowing the corrupting influences on these mountains, and coming up with strategies that will help us navigate towards getting Godly results as we avoid the wrong influences. Prayer must be strategic, based on knowledge.
