Experiencing Victory as a New Creation

Experiencing Victory as a New Creation

Experiencing Victory as a New Creation

Three key aspects are important in our understanding and experiencing victory in our Christian faith. They are

1. Our identity in Christ; this includes our position, our authority and the consciousness we build into our lives. Who are we? How do we see our selves and how far have we allowed circumstances to define us?

2. Our Conduct; this includes our behaviour, our service and our attitude. Do we operate in obedience, in compliance with God’s Word, and are we consistent and faithful? Are there any hidden agendas?

3. Our Capacity, this includes what levels we come into as a result of our consistency in carrying out our services and our consciousness of who we are and what we have. Capacity goes with responsibility. When we take responsibility we can develop capacity. This determines the levels of results we get. Callings are a product of capacity and function in the kingdom.

These three aspects affect each other. If we don’t know who we are in Christ, it will affect our conduct. If our conduct is contrary to God’s word it will wear out any consciousness we have of who we are. It is taking the right image and the right conduct to build capacity in the right things.

It matters how we see ourselves. It practically determines how we conduct ourselves and influences the outcomes we get in our lives. The enemy will rather we see ourselves as victims of our circumstances not victors over situations around us.

Our Identity

Read 2 Corinthians 5:14-21

There’s the personal as well as corporate sides to our identity. We are called the Body of Christ, the church, the family of God and the building of the Lord.

Read Ephesians 2:1-6

Romans 1:16-18 (AMPC)

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek,

For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith.

For God’s [holy] wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative.

We are to conduct ourselves in love, forgiving others and not allowing bitterness in our hearts. We are to seek the highest good of others and develop capacity to see more results in our lives.

To build ourselves in our our most holy faith, we need to speak to ourselves in daily confessions as to who we are, and what we have and what we can do. ‘You are who God says you are, you have what God says you have and can do what God says you can do’. You can become who God says you have become as you stay consistent in your words, thoughts and actions. Welcome to the new creation lifestyle where God’s covenant Word is producing results in your life and through you in the lives of others
