18 Aug Entering Into Your Prophetic Destiny
Entering into Your Prophetic Destiny
Your prophetic destiny is that which God has ordained for you! What God ordained for you is in God’s heart, waiting for you to discover and develop yourself so you can participate with God for the fulfilment of it. God has His plans for everyone He created! We have the power of choice to choose to cooperate and participate with God or do otherwise. His plans are for our good!
Jeremiah 29:11-14 (AMPC)
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.
Our nature, nurture and culture have moulded us into what and who we are today. Our lifestyle is a function of our thoughts, words, actions and attitudes! All these affect the outcomes of our lives. In this write-up, I want us all to give God the space to identify in us the things that can hinder the destiny He has for us! In this way, we can know how to take charge as we press into the future He has for us! We need to know the help and comfort of the Holy Spirit! He is our helper, teacher, standby, advocate, strengthener and comforter!
Sometimes, conflicts help us if we allow them to see what is at work in us. When offended and you want to retaliate, seeing what hurt you can be an indication of what is at work in you. Cry out for help from the Holy Spirit! Other’s observations may also help. Especially if they love you and you trust them!
There are two stances in every area of our lives:
- A yielded stance: where we let God show us what He sees in us. Ask for His help to root out what needs rooting out and repent from. Engage the weapons of warfare to get the victory over issues of impurities, bitterness, worldliness and other works of the flesh, etc. There are tests to pass as we move on to fulfil our prophetic destiny.
- The take-charge stance: this is where we summon courage in God to press into His revealed will for our lives.
Isaiah 55:6-12 (AMPC)
Seek, inquire for, and require the Lord while He may be found [claiming Him by necessity and by right]; call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have love, pity, and mercy for him, and to our God, for He will multiply to him His abundant pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth:it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. For you shall go out [from the spiritual exile caused by sin and evil into the homeland] with joy and be led forth [by your Leader, the Lord Himself, and His word] with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Ingredients for Fulfilling Destiny
The things that can hinder, pollute or pervert the destiny God has for us are laziness, carelessness and ignorance. Satan uses the works of the flesh, the systems of the world and the cohorts of hell to affect us whenever we allow him. We must remember to know when and how to yield to God and how to take charge in the realm of the spirit and in the natural so God’s will can be done.
The following will help us:
1. Our prayer life: Jeremiah 29:11-14; Mathew 16:16-19 and 1 Timothy 2:1-4.
2. Our heart condition: A heart of humility will be teachable, not yielding to pride or naughtiness.
3. Our hunger for God: This is our genuine desire for God; to experience more of His grace, love and power as we stay in the place of dependence on Him and willingness to obey Him.
4. Our hunger for souls: We know Jesus died for all mankind and many just do not know Him. So, we seek to get as many people saved as they come to the knowledge of His sacrifices for them.
5. Developing endurance/perseverance: This is our staying power; staying at it even when things get rough or tough.
6. Skills : This comes through practise.
7. Our word life: It is to the extent we obey the word, that it is to the extent it can abide in us.
Our prayer life is the birthing place for all the right conditions, positions, provisions and the display of God’s power in our lives and circumstances. In the place of prayer we are affected by the power of God, afterwhich we become instrumental in seeing others affected by His power, love and their circumstances affected.
There are different dimensions to our prayer life. Prayer is fellowship with the Father through His Spirit as we have become new creatures in Christ. Worship is a dimension where we get intimate as we adore Him, appreciating all He has done for us in Christ and naturally. Then we make our requests known to Him, known as petitioning. Supplication has to do with us asking for His help in the areas of our weaknesses. Intercession is when we pray for others for their needs to be met and God’s mercies are requested to meet all needs, for their salvation and well being.
Jeremiah 29:11-14 (NKJV)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.
Matthew 16:16-19 (NKJV)
Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
1 Timothy 2:1-6 (NKJV) Pray for All Men
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,
Nothing can stop us from entering into the prophetic destiny God has for us. This is our season of harvest. Receive all God has for you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
