The Power of Gratefulness

The Power of Gratefulness

The quality of your life, whether good or bad, is based upon how thankful you are towards God. It is one attitude that determines whether life unfolds into a place of blessedness or wretchedness. To find joy in life, find thankfulness. One who is thankful for a little enjoys much but the unappreciative soul is always miserable, always complaining. In the book of Phillipians, the apostle Paul admonishes us to ‘rejoice and again I say rejoice’, (chapter 4,verse 4.) We are told to “be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God.” (Verse 6) Many scriptures encourage us to praise God and be thankful. In Mathew 6:34 we are admonished to not allow ourselves to worry about anything. Gratitude is the healthiest human emotion.

These are things we can put into practise as we enjoy the power of gratitude.

  1. Become one with an attitude of gratitude no matter what circumstances you face.
  2. Think about the right things. (See 4:6-9)
  3. Change the way you are thinking if you want to reduce the level of stress in your life.
  4. Let the peace of God rule your heart. (3:15-17). Giving thanks is one way to let the peace of God rule in your heart.
  5. constantly offer praise to God and be grateful. (see 13:15). Magnify God in your heart through regular praises.
  6. The earth yields her increase when we praise God. (see Psalms 67:3-7).
