Insights into Having a Greater Productivity of the Faith Life

Insights into Having a Greater Productivity of the Faith Life

greater productivity of the faith life

Faith is a lifestyle that includes your thought life, your attitude and orientation towards challenges. It is based on the covenant Word of God and its goal is fulfilling the will of God and pleasing Him. With it we lay hold on all Christ has made available to us. Jesus Christ paid the eternal price for our victory in life and faith lays hold of the victory we have in Christ. Our obedience, sacrificial living as well as saying “no” to sin and the works of the flesh are all involved in the lifestyle of faith. Maintaining a focus on our faith life will help increase its productivity amongst other things.

Psalms 23:4-6

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

Mark 11:22-24

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

2 Corinthians 5:7

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Hebrews 11:1-3

By Faith We Understand

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

The focus of faith is God and doing His will, pleasing Him

Faith in God is a lifestyle: believing, speaking and acting on the Word of God.

Faith is the access we have to the covenant provision of God through Christ Jesus.

It needs to be built through practice. God is the source of everything you need in life and the cross has made it all available but you need to receive it by faith by taking it from the prepared table in Psalm 23, looking to Jesus not the problems.

Our orientation is that we take God at His Word not by our thoughts or feelings but the Word of God.

God knows our needs but still expects us to pray. So also all that the cross of Christ has made available are for us if we receive them by faith.

Steps to take:

Meditate in the Word to build an inner consciousness of the truth, which is God’s Word, His reality.

Being a doer is a sure way to avoid self-deception.

James 1:22-25

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Psalms 1:2-3

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Romans 10:17

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:8-11

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

So let faith grow to the place of regular productivity. Believe God’s Word, meditate on it by speaking and thinking it, and then act like it is true. Then expect God to release His power to effect the change desired. Use it every day.

When money shows up ask God for wisdom in using it. Don’t assume you know how to spend it.

When a conflict comes, ‘fight’ with the Word of God like our Lord Jesus did saying “it is written“. Satan attempted to get our Lord Jesus to act independent of the God the Father during the temptation. Whatever conflicts you face remember to say what is written in the

Word as your first line of operation. The issue is if that area of conflict in your life was not built on the Word, you cannot say “it is written” on a subject you are not in fellowship with. So you need to build every area of your life on the Word of God.

Luke 6:46-49

Build on the Rock

“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

The way to build on the rock starts by asking what the Word says on the subject; meditating, studying, and reading should be done on the subject matter. Then we consciously allow our minds to accept the standards of the Word so we can have these as the basis for our actions in those areas. That’s how to be built on the Word. It’s the right foundation for a victorious life.

Build your salvation on the Word not your feelings. Build ministry on the Word. Build marriage on the Word. Build your financial future on the Word not on the economy of any country. God watches over His Word to perform it. You build your prayer life on the Word too.

John 15:7

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

What does the Word say about my lifestyle? About my health? About my finances? These issues need study, meditation as well as acting on the Word where they are concerned. The Word becomes the basis for the future activities where these are concerned. This action will increase the productivity of your faith in all these areas.
